bride & groom: Rachel & David Bolles
wedding date: May 27, 2012

the bride says: David and I meet on a dating site. Shortly after emailing each other we had our first date and instantly had a connection. After just six months of dating we moved in together.

I knew we would some day get married but David surprised me two years later by purposing on Valentines Day. We went to dinner that night and before we left, he got down on his knee and asked, "Where do you want to go?!" So with that in my head all night I was kind of thinking this might be the night. Dinner came and went and nothing happened so we went home and had that thought out of my head. Well, we got in the condo, David got back down on his knee and actually asked, "Will you marry me?" After asking if this was another joke, I said, "YES!"

Like most little girls, I had never dreamed of what my wedding might be like someday. But as soon as the planning started, I knew exactly what I wanted—a spring wedding with bright colors and more of a laid-back feel. I went with kelly green bridesmaid dresses and bright-colored gerbera daisies as our main flowers.

Many aspects of our wedding were DIY projects such as the favors, homemade chocolate bars and the tissue pomanders that lined the aisle.

Everything about that day was perfect—the venue, flowers, cupcakes, photographer, DJ, hair and makeup. And I got to marry my best friend.
