Danielle Henry and Garison Beale

It seemed to Danielle Henry, who handles Web communications for the College of New Rochelle, that her boyfriend, Garison Beale, who works for the Four Seasons in New York City, was acting a bit oddly as the couple gazed at the scenery on a trip through the South of France. It turned out that he’d planned to propose at this particular spot but couldn’t get the ring out of his pocket—it was stuck! (It had been sewn there by his mother to keep it safe while they traveled.) Thinking on his feet, Garison put the proposal off a few hours until he found some scissors. Flash forward a year and the wedding plans made by the couple, who’d met at UMass and now live in Larchmont, went far more smoothly. The Wadsworth Mansion in Middletown was the ideal location for the historic-themed, 1940s summer country setting they’d envisioned. Danielle’s gown was a copy of one worn by Grace Kelly in To Catch a Thief and she carried a 1920s vintage beaded bag. A perfect detail: An antique typewriter of Danielle’s was set out and guests were invited to leave a few words of love and inspiration for the couple to cherish in the years to come.
