Despite lots of rain leading up to the wedding of Paige Massie, an HR specialist at Morgan Stanley, and Jared Getz, a commodities broker in Stamford, the sun came out just before Paige walked down the aisle to the Beatles’ “Here Comes The Sun.” Special musical moments punctuated the event—the couple’s first dance was to Eric Clapton’s “Running on Faith,” Jared and his mom waltzed to “Stand By Me,” and Paige and her dad chose “My Girl.” Of the Lord Thompson staff, Paige says, “They knew what we wanted—even before we did.” With plenty of rooms and a spa (where Paige’s hair and makeup were done), there was no need to leave the site all weekend, making the wedding a “mini destination event,” says Paige. Guests went home with notes of thanks for “jamming with us,” jars of Maine blueberry jam (the Getz family summer home is in Maine) and Southern Belle strawberry jam (Paige grew up in Virginia). All reflected the Southern grace and hospitality with which the couple, who met at James Madison University in Virginia and now live in Norwalk, wanted to imbue their day.
